The Groom's 2 Week Before List of Reminders

In the middle of everything going on, you may find an unwelcome bug called memory laps lurking in and around you planning and preparing. It is easy for anyone to get confused and forgetful when dealing with things that are highly pressuring on the nerves. Take some personal time away from your schedule to make a few reminder notes. Making personal notes is a great way to keep you organized and on top of things that are important. With taking the time to organize your thoughts and writing down important reminders, you may find that the very smallest of things will require a higher than expected priority level in your list of things to do. Organization is the key to successfully pulling yourself through this tremendous planning period.

Important things that you as a groom should remember are; gifts for your attendants, new wife and parents, the marriage license, wedding ring, last minute payments as well as tips for the service providers. It is not uncommon for the groom to forget some of these things but, putting a plan together that will better help you to remember them is a good way to ensure that you will be on top of things, because you just never know what’s really important until you do.

Your notes should start with last minute details regarding your wedding plans. Here is a list of things that are of high importance that a groom should always try to remember during the weeks approaching the wedding.

1-2 weeks before the wedding-

  • Shop for your groomsmen gifts.
  • Choose a special gift for your bride-to-be.
  • Decide on a special gratitude gift for your parents.

The rehearsal and dinner-

  • Gifts for the attendants.
  • Gifts for your parents.
  • Gift for your bride (unless you decide to give it to her in private)
  • Last minute cheques for service providers (to be given to the best man, or father of the bride or groom). Usually it is one of these people who take care of last minute payments the day of the wedding.
  • Marriage license.

The ceremony and on-

  • Brides ring.
  • Attire; suit, socks, necktie, cummerbund, cufflinks, shirt, shoes, underwear.
  • Cologne.
  • Deodorant.
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste.
  • Change of clothes for going away.
  • Luggage for honeymoon.
  • Breathe spray/mints.
  • Tylenol and Pepto-Bismol.
  • Hairbrush.
  • Hair spray or styling product.
  • Lint brush.
  • Passport.
  • Airline tickets.
  • Announcements.

Aside from these important things to remember, you may stumble on a few others along the way. This guide should only be used as a pointer. Depending on your personal wedding plans a few areas may vary. Create a list something like this and make the necessary additions as they come to you.. Also do not wait until the last minute to gather important things that are needed to take along with you. This could lead to you forgetting things you did not want to. Just stay focused and think ahead of schedule.
