Now that you have spread the news about your engagement it is time to celebrate. This is a joyous moment not only for you, but also for those who love you, celebrating wouldn’t be the same without them. However, if you are looking for a more intimate celebration just between you and your spouse-to-be consider going away for a day or two to allow the idea to set in.  This is often a very good step for easing the anxiety brought on from all of the excitement and anticipation. Once you get back, you can always celebrate with those around you. Consider having an engagement party or a night out at a restaurant with those who mean the most to you and your spouse-to-be.

Engagement party- Held by either the couple-to-be or by their parents, this celebration usually includes most of the family and close friends. Food, drinks and laughter are usually shared at this affair along with memories and toasts shared with guests. Gifts are not expected but are often given by invited guests as a token of their happiness and best wishes to the engaged couple. Thank you notes are usually sent out by the couple days after the celebration to express gratitude and appreciation to the guests that came out to share in the special moment with them.

Evening Out- This can be a small group of immediate family only. It can be held at a classy restaurant. Enjoy the comfort of conversation over drinks with those who love you and will express their best wishes and excitement for your special event.

These are a few ways many couples will celebrate their wonderful news. Whether alone or with those close to you, celebrating is a must.
